“Meet the Press” with Richard Ratzlaff

April 22, 2014 @ 4:30 pm - 5:00 pm

Organized by the NYU Department of History, and co-sponsored by the NYU Department of English and the NYU Department of Comparative Literature, the NYU Jordan Center is pleased to announce the first session of “Meet the Press,” a new speaker series geared toward both faculty and graduate students. The series will feature editors from various academic presses and will provide an opportunity to learn more about the complicated and rapidly changing business of academic publishing. The talks will be largely informal and interactive, so come prepared to ask questions!

The first session features Richard Ratzlaff, Humanities Editor for the University of Toronto Press.

Richard Ratzlaff is an acquisitions editor at the University of Toronto Press, responsible for post-Renaissance European history and literature, with a special focus on Central and Eastern European history and literature. The session is designed especially for potential first-time authors and will cover the following topics, among others: preparing a successful proposal, what to do with your dissertation, and publishing in the digital age.
