Sergei Parkhomenko — journalist, publisher, editor,  civil activist — is the former editor-in-chief of both Itogi, the sister publication of Newsweek magazine, and "Around the World" (Vokrug sveta), one of the oldest popular science magazines in the world. He can currently be heard on his own radio show on Ekho Moskvy. Parkhomenko is one of the leading organizers of the protest movement in Russia and an expert on the current political situation in Russia, the topic he will be discussing at NYU.
