The 40th Annual Conference of the Northeast Slavic, East European, and Eurasian Studies (NESEEES) will take place at the NYU Jordan Center for the Advanced Study of Russia on Saturday, March 30, 2019. NESEEES is a regional affiliate of the Association for Slavic, East European, and Eurasian Studies (ASEEES). Each spring, the annual conference brings together junior and senior scholars – graduate students as well as professionals with significant experience in the field – who present and discuss their ongoing research. This year, the conference will also feature a keynote event devoted to the collection and preservation of Soviet and Russian amateur films, a screening of the film I Believe in Spring authored by celebrated director Vladislav "Slava" Tsukerman, and a discussion with the author.
Registration for the Conference will be at the door that day: $40 for professionals and $25 for graduate students, payable by either cash or personal check. (We cannot accept credit cards.) The fee will be waived for non-full-time professionals who are serving as chairs or discussants. Continental breakfast and lunch will be available at the Conference and are included in the registration fee.
Everyone is welcome to attend.
If you have questions about the conference, please contact the NESEEES President, Elidor Mehilli, at em705@hunter.cuny.edu.
