Welcome to "All the Russias," the multimedia blog of the Jordan Center for the Study of Russia at New York University. This blog represents the first step in the Jordan Center's long-term plans to integrate Russian Studies more thoroughly into the new media landscape. Our hope is that the Jordan Center's site will become the premier hub for anyone interested in things Russian, aimed not just at scholars, but also at casual readers of Russian novels, people who follow current events, and, of course, people who live or used to live in Russia.

The primary language of this site will be English, but there will be occasional posts in Russian and frequent links to Russian-language articles and videos. We are also planning to have a regular rubric that provides English speakers with an overview of the current hot topics in Russian social media.

As "blogger-in-chief" for the site, I will initially be providing the bulk of the posts. But as the site grows, we will have more and more guest bloggers, as well as bloggers who will post semi-regularly on particular topics that they know well and I know poorly (for instance, politics or economics). There will also be video interviews with leading scholars and experts, video streaming and podcasting of Jordan Center events, and a whole variety of features that will be announced when the time is right.

We welcome input from all our readers, but we also expect basic civility to be followed everywhere on the site. The comments sections will be monitored to keep out personal attacks and off-topic rants. Trolls will not be fed.

So let us know what you think of our site as it develops, on-site, off-line, or on our forthcoming Facebook page. Keep watching this space…
