Professor Eliot Borenstein is NYU's Vice Chancellor and Vice Provost for Global Programs, and internationally acclaimed scholar of the Russian Internet and  Mass Culture. He has authored 13 books, including Men without Women: Masculinity and Revolution in Russian Fiction, 1917-1929 , Soviet-Self-Hatred: The Secret Identities of Postsocialism in Contemporary Russia. His  latest is Politics of Fantasy (2025).
