Altai Mountains is a unique natural preserve. The beauty of its mountains, rivers and forests is fascinating and breathtaking. A few years ago WWF decided to give out grants to owners of small businesses. The purpose - to give local people a way of earning alternative to poaching. Heroes of our movie, Aysulu, Leonid and Mikhail, are participants of this program. Their lives changed a lot. Now they have the opportunity to live their dreams.
The present, the past and the future of Altay. Each of the heroes found his way to apply his talents and strength. Aysulu revives the traditions, Leonid preserves and gives people the memory of the past, Mikhail is dedicated to younger generation. They are building their lives on their own. So far their business is a small oasis. But it’s only a matter of time, after all the chance is given to all.
"Mirrored Mountains. Altay" is a beautiful documentary about Altay Mountains and its people, bounded by their nature, giving each other the life force and passionately in love with each other. They do not adapt, they change everything around to fit them.
