Juliet Koss

Juliet Koss is the Gabrielle Jungels-Winkler Professor of the History of Architecture and Art at Scripps College in Claremont, California. She has published widely on modern art, architecture, and design in the United States and Europe, with an emphasis on Germany and the Soviet Union. Her first book, Modernism after Wagner (University of Minnesota Press, 2010), was a finalist for the Morey Book Prize from the College Art Association. A Fellow at the American Academy in Berlin in 2009 and the Rudolf Arnheim Visiting Professor at the Humboldt University in Berlin in 2011, she is currently completing Model Soviets, a book on the role of models, scale, and temporality in 1920s and 1930s Moscow, for MIT Press. This project has been supported by fellowships from the Canadian Centre for Architecture, the Humboldt Foundation, the Clark Art Institute, and the Center for Advanced Study in the Visual Arts, as well as a Furthermore Publication Grant from the J. M. Kaplan Fund.
